1. Set the geographic boundary before reviewing story ideas
A Locust firm may serve people in the city, one or both associated counties, or a broader North Carolina area. Those are different editorial choices. A page about a statewide law change is not the same as a page about an incident in Locust, Cabarrus County or Stanly County. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says its monitoring is matched to a firm’s practice areas and state. It does not establish that every local incident will be identified, that a specific county will generate coverage, or that a page will rank. Use the city-and-county relationship as a scope question, not as a demand forecast.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how your proposed service area would be represented in the review and approval process. Decide whether local references should be limited to verified facts, whether county coverage is appropriate, and when a statewide story is relevant to a Locust client. Keep Locust, Cabarrus County, Stanly County and North Carolina distinct in page briefs and reporting.
