1. Define the geographic boundary before designing the intake
West Point is recorded as a census-designated place in Orange County, New York. That relationship matters because your website may serve people inside the CDP, elsewhere in Orange County, or in another area your firm accepts. A location field should not silently turn a West Point inquiry into an Orange County matter, and a county-wide service area should not be represented as proof that every visitor is eligible for representation. Video Intake supports a question path built around your practice areas; your firm still decides which locations require review, referral or escalation.
Recommended approach
Set the geography questions before approving the flow. Decide whether the visitor should identify a municipality, county, incident location, residence, court location or another legally relevant place. Use West Point and Orange County as explicit routing questions only where they affect eligibility. Keep the result descriptive rather than promotional: the intake should collect information your team can use, not imply that a visitor has a case or that the firm serves every nearby matter.
