1. Set the geographic boundary before choosing stories
West Hills is a census-designated place in Suffolk County, New York. A page for West Hills residents is not automatically a page for all of Suffolk County, New York, or a broader metropolitan area. The population estimate for West Hills CDP is useful for identifying the place being evaluated, but it cannot establish how many people search for legal information or whether a particular story will produce a qualified inquiry. Bosseo’s public Legal News description says stories are matched to a firm’s practice areas and state. That makes geographic scope an implementation question: decide whether the firm wants state-level legal coverage, Suffolk County context, West Hills references where genuinely relevant, or another clearly defined service area.
Recommended approach
At consultation, write down the geographic scope for each practice area. Review whether a proposed page accurately describes the place involved and whether the firm can serve the people addressed. Do not turn the West Hills population estimate into a demand forecast.
