Start with the site you actually operate
A hosting decision begins with an inventory. Review the current host, domain registrar, DNS records, SSL certificate, email records, content management system, databases, forms and third-party services. The goal is to distinguish the website from the assets that merely point to it or communicate through it. A Watertown practice may serve clients in the city and elsewhere in Jefferson County, but the hosting review should be based on the firm’s actual website and operating requirements rather than the size of the municipality. Bosseo’s public Dedicated Hosting page describes migration of files, databases, DNS and email records as part of its hosting service.
Recommended approach
Bring the current host name, domain access arrangements, a list of website administrators and any known technical dependencies to the consultation. Ask Bosseo to identify what would move, what would remain with another provider and who approves each change.
