1. Set the service boundary before reviewing calls
Your firm may describe its market as Verona, Oneida County, New York, or a wider area. Those labels are not interchangeable. Verona is recorded as a municipal town in Oneida County, and the population estimate applies to the town—not to the county, the state or a group of households. Intake Coach should therefore be configured around the geographic boundaries your firm actually serves. A caller’s location can be relevant to eligibility, venue, deadlines or attorney review, but population data alone cannot tell you how often those issues will arise.
Recommended approach
Write down the locations your firm accepts before evaluating intake performance. Review whether staff ask for the caller’s location when it matters, whether a response path identifies a possible jurisdiction issue, and who owns the escalation when the answer is unclear. Treat Verona and Oneida County as geographic scope decisions, not as evidence of demand or expected case volume.
