Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Valley Cottage is a CDP in Rockland County, not a synonym for the county, the New York metropolitan area or the entire state. The Census record gives the place a defined geographic relationship and a population estimate, but it cannot tell you which searches produce consultations or which municipalities produce signed matters. A dashboard should therefore distinguish a Valley Cottage target from a Rockland County target and from any broader New York coverage your firm elects to measure. Ask how location labels are defined, whether a city or county view changes the question being answered, and whether a reported lead can be connected to a service area without treating residence as proof of legal need.
Recommended approach
Bring your actual service-area list to the review. Decide which geographic labels belong in reporting, which should remain separate, and how the firm will handle people who contact you from outside Valley Cottage.
