1. Start with the geographic boundary that your reports must respect
The U.S. Census Bureau records Utica city as a municipality in Oneida County and gives it a 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate of 64,217, with a margin of error of 45. That is geographic and population context only. It does not establish legal demand, search volume, competition, calls, cases or revenue. For dashboard design, the practical question is whether your firm wants to review Utica city separately, Oneida County as a wider service area, or both. Those are not interchangeable reporting scopes. A city target, county target and broader New York target should not be blended without a clear label.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geographic labels would appear in the dashboard and decide which locations belong in each report. Do not use the Utica population figure as a forecast. Use it only to keep the service-area conversation precise.
