1. Set the geographic boundary before you assess reputation
Scotia and Schenectady County are not interchangeable labels. The Census record identifies Scotia village as a municipality in Schenectady County; it does not establish where your clients live or where your firm should seek reviews. A household, an individual, and a county are also different units. Your review plan should therefore begin with the firm’s real service area: Scotia, other communities in Schenectady County if relevant, and any broader New York or metropolitan coverage you deliberately serve. A village population estimate cannot tell you how many people need legal help or how many competing profiles they compare.
Recommended approach
Map review eligibility to actual clients and matters rather than to population. In consultation, review whether the firm wants one reputation approach for Scotia or separate handling for distinct offices, practice areas, or geographic markets. Keep public language accurate about where the firm serves clients.
