Set the service area around the cases you actually accept
Perinton is recorded as part of Monroe County. That geographic relationship gives you a precise starting point for reviewing coverage, but it does not tell you how far your firm should advertise. A firm may accept matters only in Perinton, throughout Monroe County, or across a broader New York service area. Those are different decisions. Local Service Ads should not be configured from population alone or from an assumption that every nearby searcher is a prospective client.
Recommended approach
List the municipalities and counties your firm can serve, then compare that list with its consultation capacity, court or meeting arrangements and practice-area rules. Review whether Perinton should be a standalone location, part of a county-level area or included in a wider New York plan. Keep the geography narrow enough to avoid paying for inquiries the firm cannot reasonably handle.
