1. Define the service area before discussing budget
Oyster Bay is a CDP in Nassau County, not a synonym for every place your firm may serve. A campaign can therefore require a deliberate distinction between Oyster Bay, the rest of Nassau County and any other New York locations within your practice’s scope. The Oyster Bay population estimate cannot tell you how many people search for a lawyer, how many searches are commercially relevant or how many inquiries an LSA profile would receive. Bosseo’s public LSA description says its program includes category and geography targeting, including practice areas and service zones. That makes geographic definition an implementation decision rather than a demographic assumption.
Recommended approach
Bring a written service-area policy to the consultation. Identify whether Oyster Bay is a core location, one part of a Nassau County service area or outside the geographic scope for particular matters. Ask how location eligibility, proximity and profile settings would be reviewed, and how out-of-area inquiries would be identified during intake.
