1. Set the footprint around your actual service area
Bosseo’s public product description supports either statewide coverage or a narrower footprint based on selected counties. For an Ossining firm, the first practical question is whether Westchester County accurately represents the firm’s service area. Ossining is in Westchester County, but a town’s county relationship does not by itself show that every municipality in the county is appropriate for every legal service. Nor does the town’s population estimate prove that a particular service has demand there. Use Ossining as one defined location in a broader geographic review, not as a proxy for the entire market.
Recommended approach
List the counties, municipalities, courts, agencies, and service boundaries that your attorneys actually handle. Then compare a county-limited plan with a statewide plan. Exclude places where the firm cannot responsibly describe its service, consultation process, or applicable law. Ask Bosseo to show how the selected footprint would be represented before approving page coverage.
