1. Start with the exact geography
A Monticello report should not quietly treat the village, Sullivan County, New York, a metropolitan area, households and individuals as interchangeable. The Census record identifies Monticello village as a municipality in Sullivan County and reports its population estimate for the 2020–2024 ACS 5-year period. That is geographic and population context only. It cannot tell you how many people searched for a lawyer, which practice areas are competitive, or how many matters a campaign may produce. Ask to see how geographic labels are defined in the dashboard. A city target, a county target and a statewide target should remain distinguishable rather than being combined into one flattering total.
Recommended approach
Before approving reporting, require a written geography definition for every ranking, lead, page and attribution view. Decide whether your firm wants to evaluate Monticello village alone, Sullivan County, New York, or several separate scopes. Keep those views separate when reviewing performance.
