1. Start with Mexico’s actual geographic relationship
Mexico is recorded as a municipal town in New York. The 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimate lists 5,276 residents, with a margin of error of 18, and records Oswego County as the county relationship. That figure describes the town’s population estimate only. It does not establish legal demand, competition, search volume, lead volume or revenue. A firm should therefore avoid treating “Mexico” as interchangeable with Oswego County, all of New York or a metropolitan area. The service area should state the geographic relationship the firm actually wants to explain: Mexico town, Oswego County, another county, New York generally or a defined combination.
Recommended approach
Review every location statement on the website and separate Mexico town from Oswego County and broader New York coverage. Decide which geography belongs on service pages, attorney pages and consultation calls before expanding content.
