1. Set the geographic definition before reviewing performance
A dashboard can only answer a local question when the question is bounded. Mendon is a municipal town in Monroe County, New York. Your firm may serve Mendon town, other Monroe County communities, a wider New York market or several of those areas at once. Those are different reporting scopes. A page, keyword target or call should not be treated as “Mendon” merely because it is associated with the broader region. Bosseo’s public ROI Dashboard text describes rankings by service-and-city target and says that city data can inform decisions about where clients come from. That makes geographic naming and inclusion rules important parts of the review.
Recommended approach
Ask to see how Mendon, Monroe County and any broader New York targets would be separated. Decide whether the dashboard should distinguish a location mentioned on a page, a search target, a caller’s stated location and a matter’s actual service area. Do not use the Census population estimate to set a lead goal or predict case volume.
