1. Define the geography before reading the numbers
A dashboard can become misleading when “Johnson City” is treated as interchangeable with Broome County, the rest of New York or a metropolitan area. The Census record identifies Johnson City village as a municipality in Broome County. It does not say which places produce clients or which locations should be included in a law firm’s reporting. During the review, ask Bosseo how location labels are defined for tracked keywords, calls, forms, pages and attributed leads. Decide whether the firm needs separate views for Johnson City, Broome County and wider New York coverage. Do not use the village population estimate as a forecast of legal inquiries.
Recommended approach
Create a written geographic definition for each report view. Require every location-based metric to state whether it describes the caller, the landing page, the search target, the service area or another field. If the dashboard cannot make those distinctions clear, treat that limitation as an acceptance issue rather than filling the gap with assumptions.
