1. Start with Hudson’s actual service footprint
The Census identifies Hudson as a municipality in Columbia County. That relationship matters when you decide whether a city-only presence is too narrow or whether a county-based footprint better reflects your practice. A firm may serve Hudson, other Columbia County communities, or a wider New York territory; those are different scopes and should not be treated as interchangeable. Population is not a substitute for a service-area decision. Bosseo’s public product description says the footprint can cover a whole state or only selected counties, with a page for each service in each city within that scope.
Recommended approach
List the places where you are prepared to consult and represent clients, then separate Hudson from the rest of Columbia County and from any broader New York service area. Ask Bosseo to show how each scope changes the proposed city-and-service coverage. Do not expand solely because a larger map appears attractive; include a place only when the firm can give it accurate, relevant service information and handle an inquiry from there.
