Use Hamburg’s geographic scope to define the intake question
Your firm may serve Hamburg town, other communities in Erie County, or clients elsewhere in New York. Those are different geographic scopes, and Intake Coach should be evaluated against the calls your firm actually handles rather than against the town’s population. The Census record identifies Hamburg as a municipal town in Erie County and reports a population estimate of 60,234 for 2020–2024. It does not establish how many people seek legal help, how many calls a law firm receives, or which practice areas are present in that population.
Recommended approach
Begin the consultation by separating Hamburg calls from calls associated with the rest of your service area. Review whether the same qualification questions and escalation rules apply across those locations. If your firm serves multiple counties or all of New York, decide whether one intake standard should cover every call or whether the team needs practice-area or geography-specific review.
