1. Set the geographic definition before reading the numbers
A Greenlawn law firm may discuss one community, Suffolk County, a wider New York service area or several different target locations. Those are not interchangeable reporting boundaries. Bosseo’s public dashboard description refers to service-and-city keyword targets, city data and rankings across a state. Before reviewing a board, ask which locations each metric represents. A Greenlawn label should not silently become a Suffolk County total or a statewide result. The Census identifies Greenlawn as a CDP in Suffolk County; it does not establish where prospective clients search, call or retain counsel.
Recommended approach
Write the geographic scope beside each dashboard measure. Review whether a keyword, call, form, intake or matter is associated with Greenlawn, another Suffolk County location, New York more broadly or an area your firm has not chosen to serve. Treat any population figure as context only. Use the consultation to agree on location names, service areas and exclusions before comparing performance.
