1. Set the geography before you interpret the numbers
Eden is recorded as a municipal town in Erie County, New York. A dashboard can become misleading when a firm treats “Eden,” “Erie County,” New York, a metropolitan area, households and individuals as interchangeable. They are not. The Census estimate describes the town’s population; it does not establish how many people search for legal help, which practice areas are relevant, or whether a location page will produce a matter. For an Eden firm, geographic definitions should be explicit before rankings, calls or leads are reviewed.
Recommended approach
During a consultation, ask which locations will be included in each view and whether a reported lead is tied to a selected location, a page, a channel, or only the caller’s stated information. Keep Eden and Erie County separate unless your firm has decided that both belong in the same service-area analysis.
