1. Define the geographic record before judging performance
East Setauket is recorded as a CDP in Suffolk County, not as a separate county or metropolitan area. That distinction matters when you review lead records. A location label should not silently expand an East Setauket analysis to all of Suffolk County, and a Suffolk County record should not automatically be presented as an East Setauket result. Bosseo’s public Lead Attribution page describes journey-level fields including channel, referrer, landing page, device, sessions and intake answers. Those fields can support a review of what a contact actually did, while your firm decides how geographic service areas should be classified.
Recommended approach
Agree on the geographic labels you want to review before using attribution for budget decisions. Keep East Setauket, Suffolk County and any broader service area distinct. Then ask whether each inquiry has enough location context, case-type context and outcome information for a fair comparison. Treat the Census population estimate as eligibility context only, not as evidence that a particular channel will produce cases.
