1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Cornwall’s recorded relationship with Orange County matters when you review attribution. A lead may identify with Cornwall, another Orange County community, New York more broadly, or a place that appears in the referring page or intake response. Those labels are not interchangeable. A town name, county relationship and statewide service area answer different questions. Lead Attribution can show the landing page, channel and referrer associated with an inquiry; your firm still needs to decide which geographic distinctions are meaningful for intake and reporting. The Census record supports Cornwall’s municipal-town designation and its Orange County relationship, but it does not demonstrate that a particular geographic segment produces cases.
Recommended approach
Before a consultation, list the locations your firm intentionally serves and the geographic distinctions your intake team already records. Ask whether reports should separate Cornwall from Orange County or group them under a broader New York service area. Treat any geographic comparison as a measurement question to test, not as evidence of demand.
