1. Set the geographic boundary before reading the numbers
The Census record identifies Cohoes as a municipality in Albany County, New York. It does not establish how many prospective clients search for a lawyer, which practice areas are active, or whether a particular page produces matters. That distinction matters when a report combines city, county and broader New York results. A count labelled “Cohoes” should not silently include Albany County or statewide activity. Ask Bosseo to show how location labels are defined for tracked targets, calls, forms, intakes and source attribution. Also decide whether your firm wants to evaluate Cohoes alone, Albany County, or a wider service area. Those are different business questions.
Recommended approach
Start the review with a written geography rule. Require each location view to identify its scope, and keep population context separate from performance measures. Treat the Cohoes population estimate as eligibility and planning context only, not as a forecast.
