1. Define the geographic view before reading the dashboard
Clarence is recorded as a town in Erie County. That distinction matters when a dashboard displays city, county, state or broader service-area information. A keyword or lead associated with Clarence is not automatically evidence about all of Erie County, and a county result is not a Clarence result. The Census population estimate is useful for identifying the place being discussed, but it cannot tell you how many people need legal help or how many searches a practice area receives. Ask to see how location labels are stored and displayed, and whether a report can distinguish Clarence from the rest of Erie County and New York.
Recommended approach
Set a geographic dictionary before approving a dashboard view. Include Clarence, Erie County and New York as separate labels, then decide which labels are relevant to each practice area. Treat any wider service area as a separate reporting choice, not as a substitute for town-level evidence.
