Start with the geography your firm actually serves
Central Islip is recorded as a CDP in Suffolk County. That distinction matters when you review attribution: a Central Islip landing page, a Suffolk County service page and a broader New York campaign should not automatically be treated as the same market. The Census population estimate can support a conversation about whether your firm has enough local scope to warrant clearer measurement, but it cannot prove that people are searching for legal services or that any channel will produce a case. Attribution should therefore preserve the geographic context of the visit instead of turning one place name into a performance claim.
Recommended approach
During a review, list the geographic areas your firm intentionally serves and separate them from places that merely appear in a visitor’s journey. Decide whether reporting should distinguish Central Islip from Suffolk County and from broader New York activity. Keep those labels consistent when you compare landing pages, referrals, calls and signed matters.
