1. Set the geographic boundary before reading a result
A Centerport law firm may describe its service area more broadly than Centerport CDP. The Census record identifies Centerport as a CDP in Suffolk County; it does not establish the boundaries of your marketing territory or the places your clients come from. That distinction matters when a dashboard reports rankings, calls, leads or city data. A result associated with Centerport should not automatically be treated as a Suffolk County result, and a Suffolk County result should not automatically be treated as a Centerport result.
Recommended approach
Before evaluating the dashboard, write down the geographic labels your firm wants to review: Centerport, Suffolk County, New York, or another defined area. Ask Bosseo how each label would appear in the reporting view and how you would distinguish a service-and-city target from a broader county or state target. Do not approve a metric until its geography has a clear definition.
