1. Set the service area around the matters you want
Bohemia is a census-designated place in Suffolk County. A location label alone does not establish that every person there is eligible for your services, nor does it define the territory your firm can serve. Local Service Ads use categories and service areas, so the first decision is operational: which locations can your firm responsibly serve, and which matter types justify paying for inquiries from those locations? Keep Bohemia distinct from Suffolk County, the broader New York market, and any metropolitan area you may separately target. Those geographic descriptions are not interchangeable.
Recommended approach
Create a written service-area rule before reviewing budget. Identify whether Bohemia is a core location, one part of a Suffolk County territory, or a location included only for selected practice areas. Exclude places your firm cannot serve or would not accept. Review the proposed boundaries with the attorney responsible for intake so the profile does not invite inquiries the firm cannot handle.
