1. Start with the exact Amsterdam footprint
Bosseo’s public product description allows a firm to choose statewide coverage or limit the footprint to selected counties. Amsterdam is in Montgomery County, so a firm evaluating local coverage should decide whether its actual service area is Amsterdam alone, Montgomery County, additional counties, or a broader New York footprint. The town’s population estimate does not answer that question. Nor does the town’s municipal status mean that every nearby community belongs in the same plan. A useful scope follows the firm’s intake boundaries, court-related service area, and willingness to serve a location—not a population threshold.
Recommended approach
Bring a written list of locations the firm accepts matters from, locations it does not serve, and any service-specific limits. Ask Bosseo to map those boundaries against the proposed city-and-service structure before approving coverage. Treat any page count as a planning calculation, not evidence of demand.
