1. Treat Los Alamos as a defined place within a county footprint
Los Alamos is a census-designated place, not a synonym for all of Los Alamos County. The Census record places it in Los Alamos County and reports a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 13,317, with a margin of error of 655. For a law firm, that distinction matters when deciding whether a page should target Los Alamos specifically, the county more broadly, or another set of communities the firm actually serves. Population is context only. It does not show that residents are searching for a particular lawyer, that competitors are weak, or that a page will produce an inquiry.
Recommended approach
Define the geographic footprint before discussing page volume. Review which services you accept in Los Alamos, which you accept elsewhere in Los Alamos County, and whether a county-level page would add useful information rather than repeat a city page. Do not use the Census estimate as a demand forecast.
