1. Define the geography before discussing budget
Washington borough and Warren County are related but not interchangeable. The Census record identifies Washington as a municipality and places it in Warren County. Your firm may serve the borough, additional Warren County communities, or a broader New Jersey area, but each choice changes which inquiries are relevant. A service area that is too narrow may exclude matters the firm is prepared to handle. A service area that is too broad may create inquiries outside the firm’s practical reach or preferred venue. Population can document the place being considered; it cannot tell you whether enough people search, whether competitors are active, or whether advertising will produce cases.
Recommended approach
Map the counties, municipalities and practice-area boundaries the firm actually accepts before reviewing an LSA budget. Treat Washington borough as one geographic relationship within Warren County, not as proof of demand. Decide whether the profile should emphasize Washington, Warren County, New Jersey, or a deliberately limited combination, and record the reason for each inclusion or exclusion.
