1. Define the geography before reading the numbers
Vernon is a municipal-town in Sussex County, New Jersey. That relationship matters when a firm reviews location data. A dashboard view labeled Vernon is not automatically the same as a Sussex County view, a New Jersey view, or a metropolitan-area view. Nor does a population estimate describe households, individuals with legal needs, prospective clients or the firm’s service area. Ask which geographic field is attached to a keyword, call, form, lead and matter. Ask whether a city label describes the search target, the page, the caller’s stated location or another field. Those distinctions prevent a local report from turning broad geography into an unsupported demand claim.
Recommended approach
During the review, choose the geographic labels the firm actually uses in its intake and marketing decisions. Keep Vernon, Sussex County and New Jersey separate unless the firm deliberately decides to combine them. Treat the Census figure as eligibility context only, then require the dashboard’s own records to show what activity occurred and how it was classified.
