1. Set the geographic brief before discussing news coverage
A Piscataway firm should define what “local” means before evaluating a timely-news service. Piscataway is in Middlesex County, but a firm may serve only Piscataway, several Middlesex County communities, clients elsewhere in New Jersey, or a combination of those areas. Those are different editorial boundaries. Bosseo’s public Legal News page describes monitoring local and national legal-news sources for a firm’s state and matching stories to its practice areas. It does not establish a Piscataway-specific feed, local demand level, or guaranteed visibility.
Recommended approach
Bring a written geographic brief to the consultation. Separate Piscataway from Middlesex County and from the wider New Jersey market. Then decide which locations should make a story relevant, which locations should be named on a page, and which locations should be excluded. This prevents a statewide story from being presented as a Piscataway development when the firm cannot responsibly make that connection.
