1. Start with the geographic definition, not a population assumption
A Passaic-focused dashboard needs an explicit geographic definition. The Census record identifies Passaic city as a municipality in Passaic County. Your firm may use “Passaic” to mean the city, the county, or a wider service area, but those are different reporting choices. A city target, a county target and a broader New Jersey target should not be treated as interchangeable. The local population estimate is not evidence that residents are searching for a particular legal service or that a page will produce a matter.
Recommended approach
Before evaluating a dashboard, write down which locations count as relevant for your firm: Passaic city, Passaic County, or another area you intentionally serve. Ask how rankings, calls and leads would be labeled when a person searches from one location but contacts the firm about another. Keep the geographic definition visible in the review so a large service area does not make a small local result appear larger than it is.
