1. Set the geographic boundary before you set the budget
A Jersey City campaign should start with a precise service-area decision. Jersey City city is recorded in Hudson County, and the request may involve people seeking a lawyer in the municipality, people who live elsewhere but need a firm serving Jersey City, or inquiries outside the firm’s preferred territory. Those are different questions. The city’s 2020–2024 ACS population estimate of 294,078 does not show how many people search for legal help, how many firms compete for those searches, or how many inquiries a campaign would produce. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads description identifies category and geography targeting as program components. It also says that practice areas, service zones, budgets, and response settings can be managed. The useful decision is therefore not “Jersey City is large enough.” It is whether the selected service area matches the matters your firm accepts and can serve.
Recommended approach
Bring your preferred municipalities, counties, office coverage, and excluded locations to the consultation. Decide whether Jersey City should be treated as the complete service area or as one part of a broader area. Keep the geographic definition consistent when reviewing inquiries and signed matters.
