1. Define the geography before you interpret a result
Independence township and Warren County are not interchangeable reporting areas. The Census record identifies Independence as a municipal town and records its county relationship as Warren County. A firm may serve clients in the township, elsewhere in the county, across New Jersey, or in several distinct service areas. Those scopes should not be collapsed into one label. Bosseo’s public description says the dashboard can show keyword rankings, case-type data and city data. Before relying on any location view, ask which locations are tracked, how a city or county is assigned to a lead, and whether the same person can appear in more than one geographic report.
Recommended approach
Bring your intended service-area definitions to the consultation. Ask Bosseo to distinguish Independence township from Warren County and from any broader New Jersey coverage. Approve a geographic naming convention before using location trends to allocate budget.
