Does AI Answering replace our front desk?+
Bosseo describes it as a safety net. Calls go to your team first, and the AI steps in when nobody answers within 20 seconds. Your firm should decide which calls require a person and how the handoff fits its procedures.
What happens after the AI answers?+
Bosseo states that the caller is guided through the situation and that the system captures case details, timeline and contact information. Its public page says the firm receives a full transcript, case summary and caller information after the call.
Can it distinguish new inquiries from current clients?+
Bosseo’s public description says calls are classified as Potential New Client, Current Client or Other. Your firm still needs to review the record and apply its own conflict, urgency, confidentiality and representation procedures.
How many calls can it handle at once?+
Bosseo’s public AI Answering page states that the system can handle up to 20 simultaneous calls. Whether that capacity matters for your firm should be evaluated using your own phone records and overflow patterns, not Emerson’s population figure.
Where are call records delivered?+
Bosseo states that transcripts, summaries and caller information can be delivered to your inbox or case-management system. Confirm the appropriate destination, access controls and retention requirements for your firm before implementation.
Can the system provide legal advice or decide whether to accept a matter?+
The public product description explains answering, information capture, classification, summaries and coaching. It does not establish that the system replaces attorney judgment. Your firm should define what it may communicate and retain human review for legal, conflict and acceptance decisions.
