1. Set the footprint around Cedar Grove and Essex County
Bosseo’s public product description presents two geographic choices: a whole-state footprint or only the counties a firm chooses. Cedar Grove is recorded in Essex County, so an Essex County scope is a distinct option to examine if your firm serves that county rather than all of New Jersey. The Cedar Grove population estimate should not decide the footprint by itself. It cannot establish how many people search for a lawyer, how many firms compete for those searches or how many matters a page could produce.
Recommended approach
Before a consultation, write down the geographic areas your firm actually accepts, including whether Cedar Grove is part of a broader Essex County service area. Ask Bosseo to explain how the proposed footprint would represent your stated service area and how expansion would be evaluated. Do not select statewide coverage merely because a larger footprint creates more possible pages.
