1. Start with the geographic definition
A dashboard can become misleading when a firm treats “Belleville” as an undefined market. The Census identifies Belleville township as a municipal-town in Essex County. Bosseo’s public page says its dashboard can show keyword rankings, case-type data and city data. Before reviewing any report, ask whether a location field means Belleville township, another place in Essex County, a wider New Jersey target or a metropolitan area. Those are different geographic scopes. A population estimate for Belleville does not establish that residents are searching for a particular legal service or that a campaign will produce matters.
Recommended approach
Write the geographic definitions into the measurement plan. Separate Belleville from Essex County and from any broader New Jersey or metropolitan target. During a consultation, ask to see how city, county and state labels appear in rankings, lead records and attribution. Do not approve a target merely because the population figure is known.
