1. Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Rye as a municipal town in New Hampshire, with a 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate of 5,611 and a margin of error of 17. The same record places Rye in Rockingham County. That is population and geographic information only. It does not establish legal demand, search volume, competition, leads or revenue. A dashboard should therefore keep Rye, Rockingham County and any broader New Hampshire coverage as separate geographic definitions rather than blending them into one local total. The practical issue is attribution: a call from a person in Rye, a ranking for a Rye service page and a matter handled elsewhere in Rockingham County are not automatically the same event.
Recommended approach
Before evaluating a dashboard, write down the locations your firm wants to measure and the rule for assigning a lead to each location. Ask to see how the proposed view distinguishes a Rye target from Rockingham County or statewide activity. Do not accept a combined geographic number until you know exactly what it includes.
