1. Define the geography before you judge the numbers
A dashboard can only answer a location question when the location is defined. Exeter is recorded as a municipal town in Rockingham County, New Hampshire. Your firm may serve Exeter alone, other Rockingham County communities, or a broader New Hampshire market. Those are different reporting scopes. A count labelled “Exeter” should not silently include the county, a metropolitan area or the state. The Census population estimate for Exeter is useful for identifying the place and its scale, but it is not evidence that residents are searching for legal services or that a particular practice area will produce matters.
Recommended approach
During review, ask Bosseo to show how service areas and city targets would be named, separated and displayed. Decide whether the dashboard should compare Exeter with other places your firm intentionally serves. Keep the geographic definition beside every metric so a partner does not mistake a county or statewide number for Exeter performance.
