1. Define what “Sparks” means in your reporting
Sparks is a municipality in Washoe County. The 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimate records 110,024 residents, with a margin of error of 84. That is geographic context, not evidence of legal demand, competition, searches, calls, cases or revenue. A law firm may serve Sparks, other parts of Washoe County, nearby metropolitan areas or clients elsewhere in Nevada. Those are different reporting questions. A useful dashboard should not collapse them into one location label. It should make clear whether a city value refers to the person’s location, the page or keyword being measured, the office’s service area, or the source attribution attached to a contact.
Recommended approach
Before adopting any dashboard, agree on your geographic definitions. Ask how Sparks, Washoe County and broader Nevada targets will appear separately; which location is attached to a lead; and how you will review contacts that mention more than one place. Treat the Census population figure as eligibility context only, not as a forecast.
