Start with Reno’s actual service boundary
The U.S. Census Bureau records Reno city as a municipality in Washoe County. Its 2020–2024 ACS five-year population estimate is 273,212, with a margin of error of 80. That figure is context for geographic planning only. It does not establish legal demand, inquiry volume, competition, staffing requirements or likely case revenue. Your automation design should therefore begin with the places your firm actually serves, rather than using population as a proxy for intake activity. Decide whether an inquiry from Reno, another part of Washoe County or outside your service area should follow the same path. Then identify the point at which a human should review eligibility, urgency or conflicts.
Recommended approach
Bring your service-area rules to the consultation. Review how the website, calls, forms and other inquiry sources identify location, and decide which geographic information should be recorded, routed or escalated. Keep Reno and Washoe County distinct in your operating rules instead of treating every local reference as interchangeable.
