1. Start with the service area, not a generic market total
Las Vegas is a municipality in Clark County. The 2020–2024 American Community Survey estimates the city’s population at 660,400, with a margin of error of 126. That is geographic eligibility context, not evidence of legal demand, competition, search volume, leads or revenue. A dashboard should therefore distinguish the city from the county and from any broader service area your firm chooses to target. If your office serves clients throughout Clark County, the reporting question is different from a campaign limited to Las Vegas city. The system should make that distinction visible rather than collapsing every inquiry into one local total.
Recommended approach
Before evaluating results, write down the locations your firm actually serves, the locations attached to tracked targets, and the location definition used in each report. Ask to see whether city and county labels remain consistent across rankings, calls, forms and attributed matters.
