1. Set the geographic boundary before deciding on spend
The Census record identifies Sidney city as a municipality in Richland County and reports an estimated population of 6,171, with a margin of error of 15, for the 2020–2024 ACS 5-year period. That does not establish how many people search for a lawyer, how many firms compete for those searches, or how many inquiries an LSA program could produce. It does establish why geographic definition matters: Sidney city, Richland County and any broader service territory are not interchangeable audiences. Bosseo’s public LSA page describes category and geography targeting, including practice-area categories and service areas. For your firm, the first review should therefore distinguish calls from Sidney itself from calls elsewhere in the county or outside the territory you can serve.
Recommended approach
Write down the cities, county areas and legal-service boundaries you are willing to accept before discussing a budget. Ask Bosseo to show how those boundaries would be represented in the program and how out-of-area inquiries would be identified for review.
