Start with the geography your firm actually serves
The U.S. Census Bureau records Helena city as a municipality in Lewis and Clark County, with a 2020–2024 ACS 5-year population estimate of 33,639 and a margin of error of 59. That figure describes the city population; it does not establish legal demand, search volume, competition, leads or revenue. The dashboard’s location questions should therefore be narrower and operational: which Helena targets are being tracked, which Lewis and Clark County inquiries are being identified, and which locations are outside the firm’s intended service area?
Recommended approach
Before reviewing results, write down the geographic definitions the firm will use for reporting. Keep Helena city, Lewis and Clark County and any broader Montana coverage separate. Ask to see how a city, county or other location is represented in ranking, call and lead views. Do not treat population as a forecast.
