1. Define the territory before you set an LSA budget
Lake St. Louis is recorded as a municipality in St. Charles County. That exact relationship matters when your firm decides how to describe its service area. A city setting, a county setting and a broader metropolitan setting are not interchangeable. The right coverage depends on where your firm accepts matters, how far clients can reasonably travel and which locations Google permits for the profile. Population alone cannot tell you whether a broader territory will produce useful inquiries.
Recommended approach
Start with Lake St. Louis and St. Charles County as questions for review, not as automatic targeting instructions. Confirm the locations your firm actually serves, then compare narrower and broader settings against inquiry quality, out-of-area contacts and staff capacity. Bosseo’s public Local Service Ads page says its program includes practice-area categories and service areas set deliberately.
