1. Start with the geographic record, not a demand assumption
Jackson is recorded as a municipality in Missouri, and the 2020–2024 ACS five-year estimate records 15,659 residents, with a margin of error of 61. The Census record identifies Cape Girardeau County as the county relationship. Those facts establish the geographic frame for a Jackson-focused review; they do not establish search demand, competition, legal need, lead volume or revenue. That distinction matters when a dashboard presents city, county or broader market figures. A number labelled “Jackson” should not silently include Cape Girardeau County, and a county figure should not be presented as a city result.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how geography is represented in the dashboard and in any proposed tracking plan. Decide whether your firm will review Jackson alone, Jackson together with Cape Girardeau County, or another defined service area. Require each view to state its geography so partners do not compare unlike populations or attribute county activity to the city. Use the Census geography as a boundary reference, not as a forecast.
