1. Start with the journey, not the answer to “How did you hear about us?”
A prospective client may visit more than one page or return before contacting the firm. Bosseo’s public Lead Attribution page says the service records channel, referrer, landing page, device and session detail, then connects intake answers to the journey. That is materially different from treating a remembered answer such as “Google” as a complete source record. For a Jackson firm, the relevant geographic question is not whether the city’s population implies a particular marketing channel. It is whether the journeys reaching your firm from Jackson and the wider Cape Girardeau County service area are being recorded consistently enough to review.
Recommended approach
Ask Bosseo to show how a journey is represented for your firm, which geographic information is available in the records, and how the firm will distinguish an initial visit from the interaction that produced the inquiry. Decide which fields your team needs before using attribution to change budget or intake practice.
