1. Set the geographic boundary before you design the intake
Your firm may serve Farmington, St. Francois County or a broader Missouri market. Those are different geographic choices. The Census records Farmington as a municipality in St. Francois County, with an estimated population of 18,282 for 2020–2024. That is useful for naming the place your page addresses and for deciding which locations belong in a review. It is not evidence that residents are searching for legal help, that a particular practice area is active, or that your firm needs more intake capacity.
Recommended approach
Decide whether the Video Intake should accept inquiries only from Farmington, from St. Francois County, or from a broader service area. Make the geographic question explicit in the opening path rather than treating the city population as a forecast. If your firm has location-based eligibility rules, use the intake to collect the visitor’s location for attorney review—not to promise that a matter qualifies.
