Use Berkeley’s geography to define the intake boundary
Your firm may serve Berkeley residents, people elsewhere in St. Louis County, or a broader Missouri market. Those are different service boundaries. Berkeley is recorded as a city in St. Louis County, and the Census estimate covers the municipality—not every prospective client your firm might serve. Intake should therefore capture the caller’s location and the relevant jurisdiction rather than treating a Berkeley address as automatic evidence of eligibility. A useful review asks whether staff consistently establish where an incident, court matter, injury, property or opposing party is located, depending on the practice area.
Recommended approach
Set geographic questions around your actual acceptance rules. Review whether the caller’s municipality, county, deadlines and jurisdiction are recorded clearly enough for an attorney or follow-up owner to make the next decision. Do not use Berkeley’s population as a proxy for prospective-client volume.
