Start with the geographic question your records can answer
Aurora city is recorded as a municipality in Lawrence County. The Census population estimate is useful for defining the place under review, but it cannot show how many people search for legal services, how many inquiries a firm receives, or which practice areas are active. That distinction matters when you evaluate attribution. A location label such as “Aurora” is not itself a lead source, and a county relationship does not prove that every Lawrence County inquiry came from the city. Your records should preserve the actual journey rather than collapsing every local inquiry into one geographic bucket.
Recommended approach
Ask whether your reporting can distinguish the location associated with an inquiry from the channel that produced it. Review how your firm records Aurora, Lawrence County and other service areas, and decide which geographic fields are appropriate for intake, reporting and follow-up. Do not use the Census figure as a forecast. Use it to define the place you want to evaluate, then rely on your own inquiry and matter records for performance decisions.
